Η Ρόουζ Τριμέιν ζει στο Νόρφολκ με το βιογράφο Ρίτσαρντ Χολμς. Έχει μία κόρη, την Έλινορ, που είναι ηθοποιός. Το έργο της ήταν από τα επικρατέστερα για το βραβείο Booker. Της έχουν απονεμηθεί τα βραβεία James Tait Black Memorial, Femina Etranger και Angel Literary, το βραβείο του Βιβλίου της Χρονιάς από την εφημερίδα Sunday Express, το Βραβείο Διηγήματος Dylan Thomas όπως και το βραβείο Giles Cooper για ένα ραδιοφωνικό θεατρικό της έργο.
