Συγγραφέας

Η Αnne Enright γεννήθηκε το 1962 στο Δουβλίνο. Σπούδασε αγγλική λογοτεχνία και φιλοσοφία στο Trinity College του Δουβλίνου και παρακολούθησε το περίφημο μεταπτυχιακό δημιουργικής γραφής στο East Anglia University, με υπεύθυνους τους συγγραφείς Malcolm Bradbury και Angela Carter. Έχει εκδώσει τις συλλογές διηγημάτων "The Portable Virgin" (1991, βραβείο Rooney), "Taking Pictures" (2008), "Yesterday's Weather" (2009), τα μυθιστορήματα "The Wig my Father Wore" (1995), "What Are You Like?" (2000, βραβείο Encore), "The Pleasure of Eliza Lynch" (2002, ελλ. μτφρ. "Alma Perdita", Αλεξάνδρεια 2005), "The Gathering" (βραβεία Man Booker & Irish Novel of the Year, 2007, ελλ. μτφρ. Είναι παντρεμένη με τον Martin Murphy, διευθυντή του Pavilion Theatre στο Νταν Λήρυ του Δουβλίνου, με τον οποίο έχει αποκτήσει δύο παιδιά. Ζει και εργάζεται στο Μπρέι της Κομητείας Γουίκλοου.
