Συγγραφέας

Ο Τζέφρι Άρτσερ γεννήθηκε το 1940 και σπούδασε στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Οξφόρδης. Έχει διατελέσει μέλος της Βουλής των Κοινοτήτων και αναπληρωτής πρόεδρος του Συντηρητικού Κόμματος. Έγραψε το πρώτο του μυθιστόρημα, "Ούτε δεκάρα παραπάνω", το 1974, όταν εγκατέλειψε τη βουλευτική του έδρα. Ακολούθησε η μεγάλη επιτυχία του "Κάιν και Άβελ", που τον καθιέρωσε διεθνώς. Μέχρι σήμερα έχει γράψει συνολικά έντεκα μυθιστορήματα, τέσσερις συλλογές διηγημάτων και τρία θεατρικά έργα, τα οποία έχουν μεταφραστεί σε είκοσι εφτά γλώσσες και οι συνολικές τους πωλήσεις ξεπερνούν τα 120 εκατομμύρια αντίτυπα σε 61 χώρες του κόσμου. Το 1992 έγινε μέλος της Βουλής των Λόρδων. Ο συγγραφέας ζει στο Λονδίνο και στο Κέμπριτζ. Είναι παντρεμένος και έχει δύο παιδιά.
